Don’t Miss a Match! Football Fever at Frankfurt Airport

The month from June 14 to July 14 will be football season at Frankfurt Airport. Departing and transferring travelers can follow their passion for the game in designated areas both before and after the security checkpoints. The airport is creating seven public viewing sites, three of them in the airside areas, so passengers won’t have to miss a single goal by their favorite team.

Even more football attractions are available for passengers after the games: they can test their skills at kicking a ball through a hole in a special wall or try to win great prizes by knocking over a XXL free kick mannequin. Other highlights include well-known ball artists and lookalikes that will amaze travelers with their tricks. Guests can also keep up with the action while on the go: a football ticker at Frankfurt Airport will provide up-to-the-minute information on goals and plays on more than 500 screens around the airport.

“We definitely want to make sure that everyone at Frankfurt Airport clearly feels the unique excitement that this major sports event is generating in Germany,” says Karl-Heinz Dietrich, Fraport’s VP of Retail & Properties. “Fans won’t miss any of the action while traveling, and the time they spend at the airport will be a thrilling experience.”

For residents who stay at home, the Visitors’ Center at the airport is a great place to check out. There they can indulge their enthusiasm for football while enjoying the airport’s unique atmosphere. On selected days, ball artists will also delight spectators with their tricks. More information on the dates and events related to this major sports event, as well as helpful tips on arriving at and departing from Frankfurt Airport are available here.

Frankfurt Airport's Facebook and Instagram channels are also getting into the spirit of the European Championships. Hugo, the Federal Police's dog oracle, will be making his grand entrance: in several videos, the Rottweiler will predict the winning team of selected matches by choosing a food bowl.

Passengers and visitors can find more information about the wide range of services at Frankfurt Airport on the airport website, at the Service Shop, and via Frankfurt Airport’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
