Fraport AG will significantly reduce CO2 emissions at Frankfurt Airport and across the Group by 2030.
The aim is to cut emissions to 95,000 metric tons of CO2 per year in the Group as a whole and to 50,000 metric tons at Frankfurt Airport.
Fraport’s targets for its Group airports are based on those set by the countries in which they are located. At Frankfurt Airport, Fraport AG has managed to lower CO2 emissions by 50 per cent since 1990, the base year under international climate agreements, despite an ever-growing need for energy. This was achieved by implementing numerous projects focused on lowering the carbon footprint.
Carbon emissions for the entire corporate group shall be reduced to zero by the year 2045.
