“O’zapft is!” Oktoberfest at Frankfurt Airport

The Oktoberfest season will kick off at  Frankfurt Airport  on September 6 for the benefit of passengers traveling to destinations worldwide. This is the sixth time in a row that the airport is staging colorful Oktoberfest-themed activities and music in the terminals. A total of three wandering Oktoberfest bands will entertain guests in the main international departure areas with traditional Bavarian brass band music – they’re lots of fun and always ready to pose for photographs with travelers. There will also be exciting pastimes ranging from a wheel of fortune to a virtual can knockdown game. At stands around the terminals, passengers can have gingerbread hearts custom-inscribed with sugar icing or try an original Oktoberfest beer. As a special treat, a professional yodeler will be present on some days to teach the basics of his art to travelers.

You can enjoy these Bavarian highlights at Frankfurt Airport until October 31. The festively decorated marketplaces invite you to shop to your heart’s content. Besides attractive German brands, special Oktoberfest souvenirs will also be available for purchase. Many restaurants and bistros will also take you on a culinary voyage to Bavaria with specialties including white sausage, giant soft pretzels and fresh tap beer in one-liter mugs.

During this traditional event, the terminals will be adorned with delightful pictures of the Oktoberfest in Munich from an art project by photographer Jochen Manz. Many shops will also be handing them out to customers as a booklet titled “Wiesn”.

The airport’s  Online Shop  is another opportunity for guests from around the world to get in the Oktoberfest mood. There are exclusive coupons that they can use to reserve purchases online from the comfort of their home or hotel and then pick them up at Frankfurt Airport before departing.
