The recurrent training for the apron driver's license is an e-learning course for extending the validity of the apron driver's license (category “F” driving authorization).
Recurrent Training
Introduction of the recurrent training apron driver's license for all holders of a driving authorization:
Procedures for introduction of recurrent training (apron)
- Holders of a driving authorization are given an expiry date for their apron driver’s license. The recurrent training will be introduced over a period of one year.
- Depending on the expiry date, the supervisors or contacts of the holders of a driving authorization are notified approximately three months before the deadline that the designated employees must undertake the recurrent training. The notification also includes the relevant login details (letter or e-mail).
- The recurrent training consists of eleven learning modules and a final test. If the recurrent training is successfully completed in time, the driving authorization is extended by a further 24 months from the expiry date. Note: The extension always starts from the expiry date.
- Holders of a driving authorization have five attempts to pass. After the fifth fail, the “apron driver's license” qualification is withdrawn immediately in line with the regulation. This is also the case if a holder of a driving authorization does not meet the deadline for the training. If a driver’s license is withdrawn, the supervisor or contact is informed in writing. To regain the qualification, the persons concerned must undergo driver training in an
apron driver’s license course at Fraport.
- The costs incurred for each holder of a driving authorization are charged by invoicing the employer or via internal billing.
Note:
The existing regulations for the implementation of the Refresher Training Apron Driving License (for absences between 3 and 12 months) as well as the driving experience required according to the Traffic Regulations (driving activity on the apron within twelve months) remain valid and must be implemented independently of the Recurrent Training. Further details can be found in the
- Please check whether you still require a category “F” driving authorization.
- For example, if the driving authorization is no longer necessary due to a change of duties, EU regulations stipulate that the driving authorization must be returned. You can easily use the following e-mail address to report a return, stating your name and, ideally, your ID card number:
fahrerausbildung@fraport.de. In this case, you will not receive a request to undergo recurrent training, and therefore no costs will be charged.
- If an Airport ID Card has to be replaced due to damage, loss or expiry, the replacement is sent with no driving authorization inscription. However, the driving authorization continues to be stored electronically.
